#alcoy - summer started#

March 15- 17, 2013

Celebrating weekend, birthday, and summer vacation @ daanlungsod alcoy. ^___^

March 15th, 1:00 pm - headed our way to the south bus terminal. Tickets from Cebu to Alcoy is at 120 pesos. It took us almost 3 hours to get there. Alcoy is such a quiet place, away from civilization and crowded city.

We stayed at barangay beach house since it's the only place I've read online with cheap accommodation. It costs 1,200 per room with aircon and bathroom. It has a big balcony good for groups and it's beach front so you don't have to walk far.

(located at the left-hand side of the road from the city)

(the house fronting the beach)

(grilling area at the back of the barangay beach house)

The beach is really nice indeed but the water is soo itchy!  It's a public beach so everybody is free to swim but the accommodations aren't if you wish to stay over the night. We took pictures as soon as we arrived in the place.

(floating cottage @ 30 pesos / whole day for each person)

We didn't buy any food since we were thinking maybe there are restaurants around the place. And guess what.... there aren't any.... except the place fronting the beach house. (Good thing!) They cooked food for us. It's called the Edward's place. Much better if you stay there I feel safer.

The owner was kind enough to let us see their rooms. It only costs 1,200 pesos for 2 pax per night and 1,500 per room for 5 pax per night. They have 3 rooms. The biggest is called the bamboo room. It's good for family, groups, etc. It costs 1,800 with own sink in it. They also cook for you if you have the ingredients.

pasta in tipsy chicken

quesadillas

lemon chill

The quesadillas were fine according to my friend but I didn't like it. It was too salty. The tipsy chicken was so sour. I would understand because they're using tomato sauce. And I think that the sauce used in the pasta and the sauce for the quesadillas were just the same. :( Their lemonade was too sour too at first sip. Once you finish it all up it taste sweet then. :)

#Oyster Bay Seafood restaurant#

February 9, 2013

Nori and I decided to have dinner. His first choice was the Port in Waterfront Hotel but then he changed his mind and went to Oyster Bay Seafood restaurant instead. Check out the map from http://www.oysterbayseafoodrestaurant.com/

They are located at Plaridel Street. If you want to eat there on a weekend might as well have a reservation ahead of time since there are a lot of people going there.

And so when we arrived there, we were immediately entertained by this waiter named Jade. He offered us a seat near the pond but we wanted to sit on the lounge since it was still occupied. We just transferred after it has been cleared.

We ordered prawns cooked in sashimi and in lemon and butter. It costs 165.00 php each prawns because it was large. Don't forget their specialty baked scallop in garlic and cheese cooked to perfection. Around 165.00 php for 6 pieces.

We also ordered crispy tilapia in three different sauces.

And we ordered Trio Cream brulee and Leche Flan for our dessert.

#La Maison Rose#

March 2, 2013

La maison rose is located in Lahug along the Mormon’s Temple. It's called "The Pink restaurant" because it's painted pink.
They can be reached at this number 2685411. They are open from Sunday- Saturday from 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm - 1:00 am.

The restroom

So while ordering we were served with a big jar of water and their complimentary appetizers. These are their complimentary appetizers – Truffle, Gruyere and Salmon

A few minutes later we decided to order and placed our order online but unfortunately their system was broken so they have to take our order manually.

We ordered lemonade for our drink and it was served immediately. Great! In some restaurants, we have to follow-up our drinks but in La Maison Rose the waitresses were very attentive and snappy.

We ordered goat cheese for our salad. It was made from leaves, bacon, 2 thin sliced apples and of course cheese! hehe. The bacon was too salty but if you mixed the leaves, cheese and bacon together it creates a pleasant taste around 3 out of 5 for me. I'm almost done when we noticed we should have taken a picture of this.. hahaha

For our main course we ordered Black pepper steak served with pasta and fish papillote (it pronounces pa-pee-yowt) was served with dill rice.

Black pepper steak
The steak was cooked to perfection. It was very delicious and the taste really stood out.

Fish papillote
The  fish papillote was perfectly blend. I couldn't described it any further for I was speechless.

We were already full until the desserts were served. We order chocolate coulant and yoghurt with blueberry flavor.

This was the price we paid. ^__^

The night was so perfect as well as the place. It was my second time in La Maison Rose and I'll surely come back for more.

#Simply J's#

March 1, 2013

I started March with an eat out together with some old friends. We decided to have it in "Simply J's" since I heard a lot of good reviews from fellow bloggers. Simply J's is located along Golden Peak hotel. A few meters away in front of Parklane.

Address: #10 Apitong Corner, Escario St. Kamputhaw, Cebu City

No wifi

Contact: 0922-8651956

Good thing we had a reservation because a few minutes the restaurant was already full.

We immediately ordered and the attendants weren't a bit snappy maybe because there were a lot of customers at that time. It was already 7:00 p.m. when we reached the place. So a friend of mine (Vib) ordered Fettuccine Carbonara (180.00 php) for her main course and mango/pineapple ice box cake (80.00 pesos) and raspberry sola iced tea for her drink (60.00 php)

I ordered chicken cordon bleu (180.00 php) for main course with extra rice,  panna cotta with fresh fruits for dessert (60.00 php) and raspberry sola iced tea for her drink (60.00 php)

Another friend of mine ordered country pork steak (200.00 php) for main course with extra rice and banoffee and lemon sola iced tea for her drink (60.00)

Overall we liked the place a lot since they don't accommodate a lot of customers so it's not really crowded. Great place with good food. ^___^ A must try for Cebuano's who want to dine a cozy place...
